Often, people participate in online school or work from the comfort of their own homes. But it can be difficult to stay motivated when there isn't a professor or boss standing over you, making sure you're getting your work accomplished. That's why we at CreditBox have put together a list of tips that'll help you concentrate and focus on your work.

Create a Workspace
It can be a home office or a quiet spot at your dining room table, but whatever it is, you need a designated place to work. While you might be tempted to curl up on the couch or take your laptop to bed, you may find yourself watching TV or taking a nap when you should be working or studying for your online classes. When you create a space, make sure it's free of distractions and that you're able to organize all of your essential tools and materials within reach.

Schedule a Break
Whether you're working from home or participating in online school, you need to schedule breaks during long work periods. While this may seem counterproductive, breaks can actually help you stay motivated and focused. Research is finding that breaks can even improve your brain function. For every hour you work, take several minutes to stretch your legs, grab a snack or play with your pet.

Don't Work in Your Pajamas
You wouldn't show up for traditional school in your pajamas, so don't show up for online classes in them either. While you don't have to get up and fix your hair and makeup, you should at least take a shower and put on some real clothes. Studies have shown that people who do get dressed while working from home have more confidence, feel more powerful, and get more done.

Stick to a Schedule
One benefit of online classes is that you don't have to be in a classroom at a specified time. You can work when you want to, and you may find yourself working around other responsibilities, like a job or raising a family. Whatever your situation may be, try to schedule your online school time for the same time each day. Get up early and get started before the rest of your family is awake, or settle down after dinner each evening. Doing it at the same time each day helps to train your mind to focus and stay motivated on your tasks.

Reward Yourself
Once you do complete your online schoolwork or those daily job tasks, give yourself a little reward. Knowing you have something to look forward to can help you stay motivated. It could be a nice relaxing bath, a delicious snack, or time to catch up on your favorite TV shows — just make sure it's something relaxing.

At CreditBox, we know how important it is to reward yourself after working hard all day. Take your reward game to the next level with some online shopping or a new gadget you've been eyeing.
