Did you miss the IRS tax deadline?

So You Missed the IRS Tax Deadline… Now What?

Every year, from January to April, every taxpayer has the same thing on his or her mind: getting their tax return filed by the IRS tax deadline. Somehow, every year, that IRS tax deadline sneaks up on some of us, and passes some by entirely. What happens if you miss the IRS tax deadline? Don’t panic – you have options.

File Your Tax Return ASAP

Missing your tax-filing deadline doesn’t mean you can’t submit your tax return at all. In fact, if you missed the IRS deadline, you should file as soon as you possibly can. If you’re due a tax refund, there’s no penalty for filing late, but every day you wait, you’re delaying your refund check. If you owe tax, filing as quickly as possible will help you avoid additional late fees and penalties.

File Your Tax Return with IRS eFile for Free

IRS eFile is available until October 15, 2017, and it’s free to use if your gross annual income is less than $58,000. If your income is more than $58,000, you can submit paper forms through IRS eFile to save time and avoid the delay of mailing your tax return. Using fillable forms, IRS eFile converts your paper IRS forms into an acceptable digital format. If you use eFile and select direct deposit for your tax return, your money will be deposited in around 21 days.

Pay if You Can

If you owe taxes, pay as much as you can as quickly as you can to avoid additional penalties and late fees. Paying even part of your owed tax is better than paying nothing at all. If you don’t have the money to pay your owed tax in full, AmeriCash Loans can help.

Enter Into a Payment Agreement with the IRS

If you can’t pay the entire amount of owed tax up front, you can enter into a payment agreement with the IRS. To apply for a payment agreement, use the online IRS Payment Agreement Tool or mail form 9465, Installment Agreement Request. If you need additional help figuring out how to pay your taxes online, IRS.gov has many resources to help you register for electronic payments.

If you’re still waiting on your tax refund check or you can’t pay the IRS owed tax, CreditBox has your back. Get up to $4,000 by next business day when you apply online today.
